My name’s Laura Lee Bonde, and through worshiping with flags, I’ve experienced freedom like never before.
I’m a minister of Jesus and walk in a way that’s pleasing to Him. I’ve not always lived like this, though. There was a time in my life when I danced with the devil and made a living doing it. As a result, I’ve never been able to worship God freely, until now.
Let me explain: when worship music would start, my hips would move, my insides would jump, and I would just want to move my feet, BUT, because of my past (of being a stripper), I’d stand in one place and feel trapped. Have you ever seen the movie “Happy Feet?” When the music starts, that’s exactly how I feel…like I want to dance, but if I moved my body, I felt like I was trying to draw attention, trying to “make some money,” trying to be seen. That’s how I’d FEEL, but that wasn’t the truth of my heart.
I never spoke a word about this.
In April of 2014, I was at an Aglow meeting, where it was common for people to worship with flags. I’d always wanted to go up and dance for Jesus but never could take that step. This particular night, a good friend of mine came over and offered me a flag (literally put it in my hand) to worship with. That’s all it took!
I stepped out from where I was standing at my seat and went directly to the front. The moment I started dancing with this flag, intense heat rushed throughout my body and did not stop until the end of the song. I was lost in worship, dancing for my Father, listening to Him telling me how beautiful my dancing was and how it was holy, set apart for Him now. My motives were pure. My heart was pure. And God delivered me from a strong hold that had kept me from freely worshiping Him with dancing.
From this place of victory, I have learned how to make worship flags, and so far, everyone who’s used them has experienced a new freedom of some sort. God has a way of touching the unspoken wounds of your heart. His desire for us is to live freely in Him, and from worshiping with flags, I’m able to do that. 20 Things About Me

Hello. Happy valentines day.

Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s funny: I “always” sleep through tonight, and before I even opened my eyes, my heart starting singing this poem. It was like 2:35 am (or something like that). When I was younger, I used to write poetry, was going to publish them, but they were stolen, so I stopped. I may have written five poems in the last twenty years. I wonder what God is doing. 🙂

Hi Laura.
I am so pumped that I am following you! My name is Rolain and I go to a church called Celebration Church. We are based in Harare, Zimbabwe and we use flags and banners to praise God….we had a flame banner (a flag like the one you showcase made from the same material.) We bought it in Israel years ago. It was really anointed. But we lost it when we went on a music tour but we found it. But since that day we realized we need more flags like it. Finding your blog is an answer to prayer! I can’t wait to show my pastor the kind of flags you make!
I head up our visual arts ministry which is comprised of dance, banners and drama. I am so excited really!
As for your story, it really ministered to me.
Isaiah 43:21 says, The people I formed for myself shall declare my praise.
We were created to praise God. We were created to express our love to Him! Thank you for sharing your story! More people need to hear it and realize they were created to praise God.
This is to give you an idea of what we do. The lady singing is my Pastor’s wife, Bonnie Deuschle

Hi, Rolain,
I’m so excited you’re touched by my story and dance! I will watch the YouTube video. I post pictures of my most recent flags on Facebook and Instagram
All my flags are silk, and I have two different weights. The lighter silk flows much better in the air. The heavier ones are sturdier for more aggressive flagging. I’m so excited to hear that you found the one that meant so much to you! I lost one very dear to me, and it never showed up. I’ll chat more, after I watch the video.
