Mountain Memories

On Thursday, I had forgotten my folding chairs at work, so yesterday, I thought about taking one with me on my lunch, just in case Lee was somewhere sitting in the shade, I’d be able to join him, so when I clocked out, I grabbed a chair, headed outside, and asked Holy Spirit where to walk and listened.

On the path He took me down, I ran into my friend, Jose, whom I haven’t seen in weeks. We stopped to chat. Continue reading

What happens when you cut God off? I think I found out.

Yesterday morning, on my way to work, I was worshiping God and wondered where He would have me go at lunch. I heard the word ‘down.’ Immediately, I thought of walking down the street towards downtown and didn’t like that idea, so I ignored it, until later.

Similar but Different

Yesterday, on my lunch break, I traveled back over to Balboa Park, and along the way, I asked the Holy Spirit which way to walk. He took me down the path He had taken me down to meet Lee, my homeless friend with a southern drawl, so I was all excited to see him again. My plan was to invite him to our worship gathering that we’re having there today, but as I was walking, God changed my plan.    Continue reading

The REAL Reward

Yesterday, work allowed me to come in late, so I would be able to go to Nathan’s school and watch him be rewarded for his excellence in writing, but little does he know, every time I go to support him, I receive the greatest reward of them all.

As the kids file into the cafeteria, those who are receiving an award usually scan the parents to see if they can find their family member. I always make sure I arrive early enough to be seated, so that when he walks through the door and looks amongst the parents, he’ll find me, and yesterday was no different.  Continue reading
