can cause
the clouded glass
that’s been
blocking your vision
to shatter
on the ground
and melt
into the heat

I’ve realized
how my mind
and my heart
communicate
one’s more positive
than the other
when my mind says
‘I can’t handle this’
my heart replies
‘Bring it on!’
so I’ve been training my ears
which to listen to
because the heart
makes more sense

some people “look”
for a grudge
to hold onto
because it fuels the anger
that controls them
whatever you feed
will never starve

sometimes in your present
you’re reminded of your past
and think back not believing
of who you “used” to be
that’s a very good place
reminded of who you were
and seeing who you’re not
by knowing who you are
as who you’re meant to be
it may sound confusing
in a poem
but in my heart
it makes perfect sense!

when a child has to choose
between mom and dad
things change
a seriousness takes over
and fun seems to be forced
it’s not a part “of” life
it’s a part of “our” life
choices birth decisions

I cannot change
the past I’ve created
but I can choose
to love well
forevermore
which includes now
and every tomorrow

every thought of doom
every shadow of sadness
won’t stand up
to You
as I’ve trusted before
I trust again
the calling
the plans
the dance
of my life
now teach me to trust
man
