The Absence of Fear

When God first told me about making and selling flags for a living, it was in July of 2014. so those who are thinking I’m rushing into this are wrong, but as the time grew closer for me to officially start “Flames of Glory,” fear and doubt grew closer, too, until a little over a week ago.

Thinking about starting a business would overwhelm me to the point of tears. This wasn’t a “good” overwhelming; this was very much bad. I had so much doubt and fear that it almost paralyzed me.

On Saturday, May second, Continue reading

Gumby

Have you ever heard the same word from heaven twice here on earth and KNEW it had meaning because ‘how could it be spoken over you twice’ came into play? That rarely happens to me, so when it does, it speaks deep into my soul, a place only God can touch.

On Friday night, a friend was speaking into my life words that have changed the way I think about the present, the future, the birdcage, the flight, and in that discussion, he referred to me as “Gumby.” My first thought Continue reading

Plane of Prayer

Have you ever had “one” person speak into your life and that word cause you to walk away in a different dimension with a different perspective? That happened to me last night, and during a time of group prayer and worship, I had a vision.

In this vision, I saw a huge commercial airplane full of passengers, and right away, God revealed part of it to me. Continue reading

Free POOP

It’s not what you’re thinking.

Yesterday morning, Nathan wanted to take Mentos to school because they’re allowed to eat them during testing, so we stopped at Food4Less to pick some up. Do you ever have trouble deciding what to buy? Nathan was quick about it, but I was in the snack aisle, debating. Later on, I wondered if my debate was all part of God’s plan to put me in the right place at the right time.

As we headed out of the store Continue reading

The Color of Love

In everyone’s life, the color of love has a different hue, a different shade, a different look that capture’s the eye, a heart, a smile. God is constantly painting the picture of my life, and love takes on a different color all the time, but let me share with you what it looks like now. Continue reading

“Everyone Counts”

When faith is lost
and hope is gone
and no one comes around
what happens

Is that when people
fall into despair
seclude from others
and get lost in their mind

Is that when death
creeps in and
strangles the life
out of the heart

Is that when sadness
overwhelms every thought
and depression becomes
a weight that sinks the soul

Is that when tears
flood the inside
drowning the future
of becoming real

Is that when laughter
becomes buried
and smiles become
a thought never expressed

Never be afraid to be a friend
Never be afraid to give a smile
Never be afraid to say a prayer
It may restore hope
It may restore faith
It may restore life, a life worth living

Love Covers Violation

For three years, since I moved into this place, I’ve left my car unlocked in the driveway. The street has always been safe, until now.

Yesterday morning, when I reached the car to leave for work, I realized someone had been in it: glove box junk taken out, napkins and cigarette ashes on the seat, cd holder open, etc. The only thing worth taking (for a non believer) was the loose change, which the person took. Immediately, I thought, “This won’t affect me. I know who I am in Christ,” and carried on with my morning.

I warned Katie what happened, told her to be careful, and left for work. As I was talking to God, I realized…it affected me, Continue reading

Words That Broke Silence

On Saturday, I was blessed to be a part of ACTIVATE, a workshop of loving people well. While there, you encounter amazing worship, hear amazing teachings on love, and hit the streets in teams to love others well. It’s really an incredible workshop, and on Saturday, a couple of our teams went to Carlsbad to pour out our love through God’s heart. Continue reading
