“The Beauty of Worship”

When my eyes are closed
I see more of Him
the vision of my heart
so clear

Burning through my soul
reminding me
of Your love
for me

He said, “The beauty of your worship
to Me fills heaven.
On earth, it looks different,
but in Heaven,
the beauty’s the same.”

Every Body Sings

Yesterday, Kyle took me to the symphony. I was honored: honored to be thought of, honored to be asked, honored to be with him. In talking with a volunteer, I learned that the theater has been there since 1928; the hotel and lobby have been built around it. It was beautiful, and the music played was outstanding.

During the concert, as I watched each artist, I noticed their body movement. Not only did they play the notes but also moved their bodies with the music differently. Continue reading

A Song in the Breeze

Yesterday in the park, we brought worship and conversation to Lee. As we approached the meeting place, Christine (my friend from work) and I noticed that only Lee was there. I had brought three chairs, so even if no one else showed up, we would be able to site and chat with him during the whole lunch hour. We were excited!

As we grew closer to him, I noticed his “luggage” was nowhere in sight, so again, he had his friend watch it, so he could have a “normal” afternoon of worship. Continue reading

A Taste of Testimony

Yesterday, as I was grabbing my things to head out the door for lunch, I realized I wasn’t in “the mood” to really talk to anyone. Instead of loving others, I kind of wanted to go off in solitude and love myself. Isn’t that crazy! I’ve learned that we were created to become love, so whenever these “moods” hit me, I walk through them, and, normally, something amazing happens. Continue reading

Being Watched

Yesterday, during my lunch, I took some time to talk to my mommy. It was so good to talk with her. As the time went on, we began to talk about my friend, Lee. She knew of him from Facebook and totally understood when I said good-bye to her to share with him a quick hello, which turned out to be an amazing fifteen minutes.

A few people have asked me how he became homeless. When I thought of why, I realized it wasn’t in my head anywhere, so I doubted if I’d ever asked him, so I had planned to ask him yesterday. Continue reading

Words That Broke Silence

On Saturday, I was blessed to be a part of ACTIVATE, a workshop of loving people well. While there, you encounter amazing worship, hear amazing teachings on love, and hit the streets in teams to love others well. It’s really an incredible workshop, and on Saturday, a couple of our teams went to Carlsbad to pour out our love through God’s heart. Continue reading

An Audience of One

Last night, no one showed up for JC’s Girls bible study. In that moment, I can either choose to see it as an evening off with God, or I can choose to see it as a pity party thrown by Satan. Well, it turned out to be totally different, and of course, I saw that “after.”

I think Satan looks for opportunities like this to cause one to doubt if they’re even hearing from God in what to do and how to do it. It actually turned out to be an evening full of worship and prayer, orchestrated by God to bring His Heart’s cry for our city into the atmosphere. Continue reading
