A Flight of the Heart

Over the past few months, I’ve become good friends with a man named Emil. He “used” to be grumpy, homeless, unapproachable, and then, he encountered Love. After getting over my fear of him, I approached him and kept approaching him. He didn’t believe in God, but then, something happened…an answered prayer.

The first time I prayed for him, he mocked me. I didn’t pay any attention. He was on a very long waiting list for a room; until his name moved to the top of the list, he would remain homeless. After I prayed, he had some “encounters” with God (like not dying, etc), and then, it happened. Supernaturally, he was placed in a room, and he KNEW it was God answering my prayer. Has he “accepted Jesus in his heart?” Only God knows. Has he accepted love, friendship, laughter from me? Absolutely! And it just gets better. Continue reading

Change

Last night, the team that will be going to the porn convention on February 27th was blessed with hair cuts, and I received a color as well (I’ve got a lot of grey, and I’m not ready to go all natural yet). I feel like we walked in looking amazing, and then, we walked out looking MORE amazing, so why did I wake up this morning crying?

Change. Continue reading

“Awakened By My Heart”

Awakened: my soul from a sweet, deep sleep
eyes closed
calmly breathing
thoughts of you

Who is this man who’s entered my sleep
Who’s roamed through my day
lept into my heart
my mind

Awakened: by poetry that nourished my soul
my beauty within
aligning with Him
breathes the fullness of heaven

Who is this man who’s kind and sweet
favorite color
deepest dream
What thoughts enter “his” mind, while he sleeps

Awakened: my life from a heart untouched
waiting for God
feelings unknown
yet trusting
I’m awake

Will Not Return Void

Every day, when I go to work, that’s only part of my day. God has this amazing way of setting up encounters from the car into work, during my lunch, and from work to the car, and one of these encounters involved meeting a homeless man named Cedric.

The first time I met him, he appeared to be grumpy and didn’t want prayer. When I meet people like that, I continue to build a relationship with them, I just won’t offer prayer…won’t even talk about God, and then one day, all of that changed.  Continue reading

Beauty Behind Lashes

Every year, JC’s Girls at the Rock go to the porn convention in Los Angeles to set up a booth, pray for people, hand out bibles, and let everyone know that God loves them right where they’re at. When I realized that God loved me just as much on the abortion tables as He does right now, I was blown away, so we want to blow people away with God’s precious Love and watch Him melt the hearts of the lost. We’ll be doing this at the end of the month, and along with all this goodness comes warfare.  Continue reading

A Sobering Moment

When we were at Ocean Beach on Sunday, I had the chance to meet these two beautiful young ladies. They were so drunk…so high, but in the Presence of God, you wouldn’t believe how sober a person can become.

The way they approached us was hilarious! They were, literally, falling all over us, asking, “Who’s the Raiders fan?” (Mind you: I wasn’t wearing “anything” Raiders on Sunday, which is surprising. Normally, I have SOMETHING on that shows that awesome team.) I raised my hands loud and proud and said, “I am!!” They were SO disappointed. They were asking to give that person a hard time, but once they started talking to me, they couldn’t help but love me. Continue reading

The REAL Reward

Yesterday, work allowed me to come in late, so I would be able to go to Nathan’s school and watch him be rewarded for his excellence in writing, but little does he know, every time I go to support him, I receive the greatest reward of them all.

As the kids file into the cafeteria, those who are receiving an award usually scan the parents to see if they can find their family member. I always make sure I arrive early enough to be seated, so that when he walks through the door and looks amongst the parents, he’ll find me, and yesterday was no different.  Continue reading

Winning Warfare

Yesterday, as I was leaving for work, this thought came to my mind (I don’t believe it was from me), “Everybody wants “some” body, but nobody wants “you,” but the neat part was how my heart responded.

It was as a quick as a question and answer sort of thing. Continue reading

A Drive Through God’s Heart

Last night, as I was driving to pick up Kyle, I was having the best time with God. I think that’s why my gas light keeps coming on. When I’m in the car, I’m so far in heaven that I forget about earth, and then, the light comes on and grounds me once again. (I did it again the other night: no teeth, jammies, had to pump gas.) But that’s okay, the reason behind the missed responsibility is so intoxicating, and last night, I was at it again.  Continue reading
