when you’re complete with God’s love
nothing else’s needed
when you know who you are
the mirror’s your friend
this move’s been a battle
that I’ve taken personally
but it’s not against “me”
it’s to tear down the Kingdom
but that’s not happening
not today
not tomorrow
not on MY watch
before I’m a mother
before I’m a wife
before I’m a friend
I’m a mighty woman of god
and this mighty woman
plans on winning every battle
because the Joy of the Lord

I love watching the light come
in the morning
in people’s eyes
in situations
it speaks of new beginnings
and sings of awakening
to rise
and shine
and give God the glory

[written 7/10/16]
there’s something about laughter
that brings the enemy down
I picture laughter
sounding like
nails on a chalkboard
to the enemy
when we got to Texas
depression was heavy
lingering above us
dripping in our minds
one by one
we were silent
consumed with the sound
of the drip
one by one
we pulled out of it
and turned off
the spout
except Nathan
he’s been so sad
through it all
until last night
waiting at Denny’s for food
but being fed by Heaven
all it took
was one incident
and we were rolling!

“Prideful End”
when I think of our country
I think of “est”
seems someone
always wants the name
funniest
truest
bloodiest
deadliest
there’s so much profit
from tragedy
so much pain
in the rally
I’m not one to write
about things in this world
normally
just what I’m going through
but the here and now
is to be expected
because Pride seems to reign
in many hearts
for many years
races, religions
and organizations
have removed God
and then wonder
why the devastation
God’s NOT in control
WE are
so what will people do
pray?
gossip?
berate?
one nation
over God
divisible
with chains and deception
for all?
not in my heart!

fast forwarding to know
Your Will
not waiting for Your lead
not balancing in Your light
but tripping in the field
as I close my eyes
and open my heart
I see Love
all the way through

to know You
is to love You
every breath of doubt
every thought of doom
every shadow of sadness

to You
as I’ve trusted before
I trust again
the calling
the plans
the dance
of my life
now teach me to trust
man
