Sobriety

Yesterday, I was surprised that I never got around to writing about my sobriety, but then again, I wasn’t that surprised at all.

You see, there’s been a fear in me about writing: who can know; things aren’t perfect; how can I be honest without drowning others; how can I be transparent without exposing…the list of fears goes on and on, and that list has kept me from writing, but that’s letting fear control me, which isn’t who I am at all.

Keys of Royalty

Talk about revelation-overload! Over the past few days, God has been teaching me a lot, and all of it has been good, but this will be about “one” of the things He taught me, but there’ll be more to come.

On Tuesday, we arrived at our hotel (Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa), which was attached to Disney California Adventure Park. Scott had picked this one in particular because they offered the purchase of massages, facials, etc., and the other hotels didn’t. [Yes, I was at Disneyland for three days, and during my stay, I was blessed with an hour long Swedish massage and an hour long facial that, supposedly, made me look younger.] Right off the bat, God was teaching me. to be opened by keys

keys make me think of doors
but as I live my life
I realize I have keys

to open chains

chains of addiction
chains of pornography
chains of promiscuity
chains of rejection
chains of religion
chains of sin
chains of unworthiness
chains of unforgiveness

chains
that need to be opened
with the keys
of victory lived
