Surprising Lee

On Wednesday, I went to the park to snatch up Lee, let him shower, and take him to an old car show, but he was nowhere to be found, so yesterday, I stopped by for a visit and caught him off-guard.

When I pulled up, he was resting on his “cart” of bags, sleeping. I gently sat next to him, so when he lifted his head, he was pleasantly surprised. The night before, he hadn’t slept very well because the cops showed up super early and chased him away Continue reading

“Authority Behind Prayer”

It’s so easy to mimic
pretending it’s you
praying, repeating
wanting the same results

nothing happens

I’ve been listening to prayers
not repeating them
but listening…realizing
they’re just words

the enemy doesn’t bow down to words
the enemy flees from authority

becoming love
knowing who you are
scares the enemy back to hell
where it belongs

storming earth with heaven
sending darkness back to hell
an Army is rising

can you feel it

A – authority known
R – relationships growing
M – many standing as one
Y – Yahweh

In this vision, I saw a huge commercial airplane full of passengers, and right away, God revealed part of it to me. Continue reading

Empty Love

Today, in Balboa Park, I spotted Mike sitting on the ground near an empty chair, so I knew Lee wasn’t far. I was glad to see Mike. That meant, if he WAS the person Lee offended, he was over it. I walked up, hugged him, and sat down. Soon enough, Lee joined us.

It’s amazing how they expect me, and I show up. I believe it’s a mutual gladness: I’m glad to see them waiting, and they’re glad to see me coming. We started chatting about politics a little because Lee’s reading a book about Bill Clinton, and Mike’s next in line. In chatting about that stuff, Lee went further back in time. Continue reading

Easily Offended

Yesterday, I grabbed my chair and headed out to spend time with Lee in the park. On my way there, I thought about all the people I “could’ve” been praying for but wouldn’t be because of the time I spend with Lee, and God told me, “I have you there for Lee right now.” That seems so easy…too easy. I really enjoy my talks with Lee, and yesterday was no different. Continue reading

Lunch with Lee

In case you don’t know, Lee is a homeless man that I’ve become friends with over the last two weeks (I’ve sat with him three times), and on Friday, I invited him to have lunch with me on Monday, which was yesterday, and what an amazing time it was! It seems like it will be hard to put into words the wonderful lunch we had, but I will do my best to invite your heart to dance with mine.  Continue reading
