Mindsets

“Mindsets”

Twisted
believing a lie
that goes against
Truth from the beginning

Prideful
false humility
denying the blessing
from an open hand

Lustful
seeking, wanting
holding on to man
for God’s precious love

Wholeness
living in Christ’s mind
existing through His heart
becoming Love as He is

Freedom!

At the Scent of Jesus

What happens when you cut God off? I think I found out.

Yesterday morning, on my way to work, I was worshiping God and wondered where He would have me go at lunch. I heard the word ‘down.’ Immediately, I thought of walking down the street towards downtown and didn’t like that idea, so I ignored it, until later.

Surprise of the Heart

Yesterday morning, I went to Crosspointe Life Church to worship with flags alongside Henry and the gang. Before that day, I was told that there was a certain area on the stage for those who worship with flags, so I was excited to be able to join them. When I arrived, I went to the front to ask about where to go and who to join, and I found out that they had made it possible for me to flag on stage alone. I was in awe!

Before I went up, I was on my knees, spending time with God…letting Him know I wanted nothing to get in the way of my worship to Him…no distractions. Continue reading

The End of a Season

[Written yesterday, 3/14/15]

Today is the last game of the winter season of flag football. To watch my oldest son coach and my youngest son play has been an inexpressible joy in my heart! The restoration that pursues our family is amazing, and it feels like it’s only just begun, but the truth is, God’s been restoring our lives for years.

Knock Knock…

Last night, I took the kids to Taco Bell, and the funniest thing happened. Nathan was ordering and asked for four tacos, two of one kind and two of another. As he moved to the side, he said, “Oh, and no cheese.” The lady behind the counter said, “On all of them?” Nathan said, “No olives.” He looked so confused. We started laughing so hard. When she said “all of them,” Nathan heard “olive.” So, a new knock-knock joke was born.   Continue reading

Similar but Different

Yesterday, on my lunch break, I traveled back over to Balboa Park, and along the way, I asked the Holy Spirit which way to walk. He took me down the path He had taken me down to meet Lee, my homeless friend with a southern drawl, so I was all excited to see him again. My plan was to invite him to our worship gathering that we’re having there today, but as I was walking, God changed my plan.    Continue reading

A Friend from the Past

Yesterday, as I was walking to Balboa Park on my lunch break, I was talking to God and asking the Holy Spirit where to go, where to sit, where to walk, and then, I listened and followed His lead, and wouldn’t you know it…amazing things happened.

The first area I sat in was at a distance from my usual spot. Where I was sitting, no one was walking near, but I could see people walking along the street…so many people. My heart’s desire was to sit down with every single one of them, but there was only one “me” and a whole lot of people. I began to soak in the Son by reading my bible, exploring trees in the Scriptures, praying throughout; when, all of a sudden, I “knew” it was time to move, and where to move was across the way.  Continue reading
