The most accepting people are the ones who’ve been judged the most.
acceptance
“Fortress”
over time I’ve learned
if someone hurts me
over and over again
I guard my heart
with an iron wall
so what if that someone
decides to change
will their niceness
even make it
over the wall
in turning the other cheek
over and over again
you end up shaking your head
“no”
“Open Harms”
people tend to yearn for acceptance
whether from themselves
or from others
I’ve heard countless people
come to God
relieved to be accepted by Him
how accepting is the church?
they claim to love you where you’re at
but do they
do we?
if a male couple came into church
holding hands seeking God
what would you do?
would you embrace them
welcome them into your life?
take that same couple
but a man and a woman
after unkown surgery
would you embrace them
welcome them into your life?
people tend to jump on banned wagons
and declare what’s wrong
instead of being what’s right
if Light boycotted darkness
what would happen
if Light ONLY stayed inside
would the doors be locked
“Family Tree”
some people have their minds
set
on how life should go Continue reading
The Outcast

After ten, she responded with what a hard day it had been. She’d endured it with pain and tears. She was tired and couldn’t wait to be home, and in her text, she put, “Mom, you don’t even know,” so I knew there was more to her day than just pain. Continue reading
Pause
Sometimes, before you think, it’s good to just breathe.

The Man in the Lighthouse
Yesterday at the park, Lee and I had a good visit. Again, on my way there, I talked with God and listened. This friendship is part of His plan, and I believe, every day, I learn more about both: His plan and our friendship. And when I’m wrong, I admit it. Continue reading
At the Scent of Jesus
What happens when you cut God off? I think I found out.
Yesterday morning, on my way to work, I was worshiping God and wondered where He would have me go at lunch. I heard the word ‘down.’ Immediately, I thought of walking down the street towards downtown and didn’t like that idea, so I ignored it, until later.
