it’s so tempting to look back
and regret the years I’ve lost
the time I spent
drinking
using
neglecting
selling
giving
almost everything away

Jesus
In, Not Of
Yesterday, God gave me something to write about, but I didn’t want to write it, so I didn’t. What do you know: He gave me the EXACT same thing to write about today! I have a feeling, if I don’t write about it, I’ll be asked to tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after that, until I write, so here we go.
This post will be like tequila: you’ll either love it or hate it, and frankly, I’m not looking forward to the results. Continue reading
“Inner Peace”
when I look inside my heart
I see meadows
and flowers
tall grass blowing in the breeze
clouds moving softly
to the motion of the angels
mountains in the distant

Empty Stands
Well, I wasn’t going to write today because writing makes me tired, and I have a lot of flags to sew, so I decided to write a quick poem about what was going on in my heart, and as I read it, I began to weep.

“Armor”
will death care what you wear
or how you look
will shame move one
if you’re put together
will regret stay afar
if you’ve got your makeup on
will pride move aside
if you wear your hat
authority is known in the heart
and moves mountains
stands against the storms
withstands the heaviest winds
is a part of who you are
not how you look
or what you wear
it’s from the inside out
“Fortified Cities”
walls have different looks
different meanings
they say
don’t look at me
don’t talk to me
I’m going to hurt you
etc.
but much like the Old Testament Continue reading
“Glory Cloud”
when I
hear Your Voice
it’s like heaven
when I
look inside
I see
when I
breathe You in
it’s apparent
Heaven’s inside of me
breathe in
look for
listen to
Heaven inside of me
“Death”
a past without a present
future without hope
separation from God
