Change

Last night, the team that will be going to the porn convention on February 27th was blessed with hair cuts, and I received a color as well (I’ve got a lot of grey, and I’m not ready to go all natural yet). I feel like we walked in looking amazing, and then, we walked out looking MORE amazing, so why did I wake up this morning crying?

He Runs to Us

Yesterday, I stopped by one church in Ramona to deliver a set of worship flags, where Rey Richardson was going to be leading worship. As I walked through the door, the voices and the sight of my friends overwhelmed me. When you feel love so deeply, even the sight of people takes your breath away, but something even more wonderful happened.

“Awakened By My Heart”

Awakened: my soul from a sweet, deep sleep
eyes closed
calmly breathing
thoughts of you

Who is this man who’s entered my sleep
Who’s roamed through my day
lept into my heart
my mind

Awakened: by poetry that nourished my soul
my beauty within
aligning with Him
breathes the fullness of heaven

Who is this man who’s kind and sweet
favorite color
deepest dream
What thoughts enter “his” mind, while he sleeps

Awakened: my life from a heart untouched
waiting for God
feelings unknown
yet trusting
I’m awake

A Sobering Moment

When we were at Ocean Beach on Sunday, I had the chance to meet these two beautiful young ladies. They were so drunk…so high, but in the Presence of God, you wouldn’t believe how sober a person can become.

The way they approached us was hilarious! They were, literally, falling all over us, asking, “Who’s the Raiders fan?” (Mind you: I wasn’t wearing “anything” Raiders on Sunday, which is surprising. Normally, I have SOMETHING on that shows that awesome team.) I raised my hands loud and proud and said, “I am!!” They were SO disappointed. They were asking to give that person a hard time, but once they started talking to me, they couldn’t help but love me. Continue reading

The REAL Reward

Yesterday, work allowed me to come in late, so I would be able to go to Nathan’s school and watch him be rewarded for his excellence in writing, but little does he know, every time I go to support him, I receive the greatest reward of them all.

As the kids file into the cafeteria, those who are receiving an award usually scan the parents to see if they can find their family member. I always make sure I arrive early enough to be seated, so that when he walks through the door and looks amongst the parents, he’ll find me, and yesterday was no different.  Continue reading

Winning Warfare

Yesterday, as I was leaving for work, this thought came to my mind (I don’t believe it was from me), “Everybody wants “some” body, but nobody wants “you,” but the neat part was how my heart responded.

It was as a quick as a question and answer sort of thing. Continue reading

Chosen

Recently, I’ve received a lot of worship flag orders, so in my time away from work, there’s a lot for me to do. Yesterday would’ve been a good day to finish some. Little did I know…my son, Kyle, had most of my day planned out, and it was time well spent.  Continue reading

Coach Kyle

IMG_1963My son, Kyle, has a dream of someday either being an NFL coach of a team or owning one. On Saturday, his dream began with his first coaching position of my other son, Nathan’s, team. I was one proud momma!

When I post about my kids, it may seem odd, but if you lived inside my heart, you’d understand. When my older two were little, I oppressed them with a darkness that’s hard to fathom: Continue reading
