When life changes direction
it takes a minute
to get accustomed
to the view
perspective
“Scenery”

“The Real Deal”
happiness is a state of mind
and the only state i wanna live in
i can’t fake being happy
i can’t fake being sad
what you see is what you get
but i DO have a goal
to be more
i wanna be happy ALL the time
no matter what the circumstance
unless tragedy strikes of course
some say that’s impossible
but I say they’re wrong
from inside God’s heart
ALL things are possible
and looking inside God’s heart
there’s nothing to be unhappy about
making decisions creates a reality
and the way i react to that reality
can make a difference in the world
either good or bad
“Check the Lighting”
for the one who lost a baby
newborn pictures will look different
for the one in an unhappy marriage
wedding photos will lack joy
for the one who lost their kids
family pictures may not form a smile
sometimes effects of experience
change one’s perspective
and the only way to change it back
is through alignment with Him
“At One’s Level”
when
a
water
drop
falls
from
a
leaf
does
anyone
notice
besides
the
ant
“Atmosphere”
you know
I don’t know the future
what God has planned
if anything will be the same
tomorrow
as it was today
if anything will change
to the beat of my heart
if anything will change
the beat of my heart
it doesn’t matter
where I look
will be a view
where I wake
will be a sun
where I sleep
will be a moon
so many things
are different
yet the same
so many meanings
have changed
from before
Above the Barbed Wire Fence
Before I forget, I want to share with you a comical moment from my recent retreat. It didn’t happen “during” but on my way home.
After the official ending time of my retreat, I was invited to stay longer but felt compelled to leave after eating lunch. I figured it was so I could miss traffic, but God had planned something else. Continue reading
Taste and See
Lately, I’ve been asking God about His phrase ‘taste and see.’ I’ve been wondering what the reason was behind putting those two words together. In the natural, they just don’t make sense, but in the spiritual, they have a whole new meaning. Continue reading
To Find the Heart
The scenery on the road of my perspective has changed multiple times and will keep changing, but recently, God has revealed to me one area of my life where it has changed dramatically: the way I see men.
Even through sobriety (and my beginning years of being a “Christian” woman), I would look for men I would sleep with. I never saw their heart, only their appearance. Continue reading
