Hemmed In

Yesterday, as I was making flags, God was speaking to me about the silk of the thread being woven into the material around the weight, and He was relating it with Christ to the church and the husband in the home. I’m not even sure how this will all flow because it doesn’t feel very complete in my head, but God’s telling me to write about it, so we’ll see what happens. Continue reading

Wanting to be Seen

Yesterday afternoon, I met up with some friends to pray for people downtown. We started from in front of Horton Plaza and followed where the Spirit led us. There were so many amazing stories of what God was doing, but as we were praying for one young man, God told me to write about him.

As we were walking along, one from our group stopped to talk to a man leaning against the wall. I’m not sure if anyone in our group wants to be named, so I’ll leave their names out, but after talking to this young man named Michael, I KNEW God wanted me to write about him, so I asked for his permission, and he said, “Yes.”

[Michael, if you’re reading this, I love you; we all love you; you’re an amazing young man; you’re not just an acquaintance; you’re our friend, so keep in touch; God has amazing plans for you!!] Continue reading

Reality of Blood

Man, I’m about to be really real with you about some things that I’d rather keep inside, but I feel like God wants me to share, so I won’t hold back from His calling, so here we go.

Recently, I went through a season where I felt invisible to a lot of people. I really wanted people to notice me, acknowledge me, like they were doing to others. Right now, I have tears running down my face because I realize how selfish that was. Life isn’t about who likes me, notices me, or encourages me. Life is about the gospel, all that Jesus was, all that He did, all that He is inside of me, and to think that that other stuff bothered me is embarrassing, but from what I’ve learned this weekend, the place where my heart is right now is a very good place. What’s in a Song

Recently, I heard a prayer like ‘God, I want to go wherever You go,’ and immediately, I felt differently…in a good way.

I realize we “follow” God and want to go wherever He goes, but it’s really only His voice we’re following because as Christians, He goes wherever WE go. Jesus lives in me…period, and wherever I step my foot, He goes. That’s why we go into dark places…because we release the Kingdom that’s inside of us.

I used to agree with almost everything I heard in church but not anymore. Continue reading

To Find the Heart

The scenery on the road of my perspective has changed multiple times and will keep changing, but recently, God has revealed to me one area of my life where it has changed dramatically: the way I see men.

Even through sobriety (and my beginning years of being a “Christian” woman), I would look for men I would sleep with. I never saw their heart, only their appearance. Continue reading
