how does darkness
make death
so appealing

a young girl cutting
a woman aborting
a man escaping
reality

there’s a veil
set in place
with a vision
of paradise
that’s decorated
until chains
set in place

locked in silence
held in isolation
surrounded in love
but on an island

not being able
to swim
to safety

stranded
in the dark
but surrounded
by Light

having to choose
to be free
having regret
looming
to take hold

so many
make the choice
to regret
so many
make the choice
to be freedom

be available
to listen
be coming
in love
be willing
to sacrifice
your opinion

darkness
is an illusion
that’s stepped into

help someone
step into
the Light

“The Cost of Free Will”

I get so mad
when the enemy wins
when he’s given control
by free will

to murder
to rape
to neglect
to abort

you can’t convince me
that God’s in control
when darkness reigns

it’s against His Character

no
there’re times when
hell rejoices
from having it’s way

I wonder if the rejoicing’s
the same as in heaven
when one’s found
the angels sing
well when one’s lost
does hell throw a party

wonder if we loved those
through their darkness
how that’d mess up the enemy’s
thinking

many people say it
declare it
but is it true
 
if a man
kills with a gun
was it in God’s hands
or the one holding the gun
 
if a woman
signs papers for an abortion
was it in God’s hands
or the one holding the pen
 
if someone
robs a store
was in God’s hands
or the one holding the goods
 
darkness comes
to steal
kill
and destroy
but many proclaim
 
it’s in God’s hands
 
no
many things are in the hands
of mankind
influenced by darkness
to bring forth
destruction

the mind of Christ
mysteries revealed
never hidden

knowing Him
to such a degree
of living WITH Him
eternally

never wanting
never needing
darkness
to survive

having been
on the other side
I can tell you
Light prevails

no more waking
unknowing
no more passing out
to sleep

no more selling
what was His
no more lying
to get it right

flip the coin
until it lands on Him
and choose to live
on the other side
