when I think of our country
I think of “est”
seems someone
always wants the name

funniest
truest
bloodiest
deadliest

there’s so much profit
from tragedy
so much pain
in the rally

I’m not one to write
about things in this world
normally
just what I’m going through

but the here and now
is to be expected
because Pride seems to reign
in many hearts

for many years
races, religions
and organizations
have removed God

and then wonder
why the devastation
God’s NOT in control
WE are

so what will people do
pray?
gossip?
berate?

one nation
over God
divisible
with chains and deception
for all?

not in my heart!
