Words that Pierce

Have you ever been attacked by words? If you’re alive, your answer’s probably yes.

Before my retreat, I was attacked harshly by two different people, both “Christians”…both “speaking their truth in love,” but this isn’t a post about bashing them. It’s about continuing to move forward in spite of them.

If you’re new or old to my blog, you’ve probably noticed how I love God and how I live through His Heart. In doing so, I’ve realized all the dreams I have and how they’ll become reality in due time. One of these dreams is to write about whatever God puts on my heart and/or mind, and that’s what I’m currently doing, but it’s more than that. Continue reading

The Morning After

If you asked me, I’d say we had a lot of fun on Halloween, and when I say “we,” I mean me, Carolyn, Nathan, and then some.

The kids keep wanting “game nights,” so I keep creating time to have them, so on Friday, a few of Carolyn’s friends came over to hang out, and a couple of them ended up staying all weekend. Continue reading

Hell has Ears

On Saturday morning, Nathan and I were sitting on my bed, talking, and somehow, we headed down memory lane about my childhood, and I told him about my decision to become a mother.

I’ll never forget it: I was holding my Cabbage Patch doll and talking about how I was going to be a mother someday, how I was going to love my kids like I’d never been loved, so they could experience hugs and kisses, and as I remembered, I began to cry. Nathan almost cried, too. Continue reading
