Throughout my years of recovery (from alcohol and from hell), I’ve remembered many things, some of them good and some of them not so good. When it comes to memories of my dad, there aren’t very many.
In the past, most memories I’ve had of him were attached with pain, but through learning how to reject the pain, I now only have memories, and most of them that I remember bring a smile to my face, like the one I had this morning. Continue reading
If you’ve been keeping up with my posts, you’d know how time consuming these past few weeks have been, with my ex-husband in town. It took me over a day to recover and almost a week to catch up on flag making. (I’m still not caught up!) During this time, I also haven’t gone to see Lee in the park, and yesterday, God prompted me to do so.
There was a part of me that didn’t know how he would react to my visit, since I’ve been so busy with family and the business, but nothing stops me (normally) from following God’s voice, so regardless of how I “felt,” I took him some lunch. Continue reading
Last week, when we were at Disneyland, there were times when it was VERY crowded, but we had a good system in place, so we wouldn’t be separated, but in order for that system to work, we all had to do our own part, which didn’t always happen. Continue reading
Last week, I had gone to the park to surprise Lee, and boy, was he surprised! As I walked up, he was reading, so his head was down, and when I said my usual, “Hi, Lee!”, his whole body smiled. He was so happy. Well, yesterday, he was surprised with another visit, but this time, Barry went down there, too.
Yesterday was an unusual lunch day for a couple reasons: one of them good and one of them…well, I’ll let YOU decide. [Warning: this is a long post.] Continue reading
Do you remember when Lee was pooped on…twice? It cracked me up! It could’ve been when he had asked not to be on Facebook. If that’s the case, let me know, and I’ll post the story. It was hilarious (to me), until “I” was pooped on. Then the funny flew away with the bird. Anyway, during that time, I sort of met Lee’s friend “JC,” and it was not a pleasant meeting. Continue reading
Yesterday, when I went to the park, guess who was in his usual spot, sitting in his usual position, reading his usual book? Lee…as if nothing ever happened. We hugged, and I started to explain how I couldn’t find him the day before. He told me what happened. Continue reading
Okay, this post will have a little bit about Lee, so I’ll let him know later, and if he minds, I’ll delete it. When I spend time with God in the morning, HE guides me on what to release out of my heart, and this is what He chose, so here we go.
Let me back up a little: on Tuesday, I wore my pair of boots, and Lee and I spoke a couple of sentences about them that seemed to come straight out of the “Forrest Gump” movie. Continue reading
As you’ve noticed, I no longer post about Lee. I thought about it: if I went to have coffee with a friend, would I post about it the next day, what we talked about? No, so why was I posting about Lee? He’s become a very good friend of mine, so the posts of him have come to an end…except for this one. Without him in the story, I won’t be able to fully express what happened to me yesterday, and it’s worth the smile it might bring. Continue reading
