“whole-hearted-ly”

some people think faith
is opening their own doors
before closing others

they want that guarantee of provision
before they allow God to provide
they want to have enough saved up
before they step out in faith
they want to have all bases covered
before they’ll follow Him

but many times
He’ll shut a door
before another one opens
and sometimes
He wants YOU
to shut the door

but people wait
wait for what?

those who can’t let go
hold on to control

do you think God notices?

He looks past your job
He looks past your dreams
He looks past your circumstances

into your heart

He knows
He sees
maybe weeps
for you to let go
and follow him

From Never to Forever

1/25/2016

The enemy comes to kill, steal, and destroy and, at different times, has reeked havoc in my family, but yesterday, some of his plans were abolished.

Twenty-two years ago, I served my ex-husband divorce papers and declared I’d never go back to him.

Over the years, we remained friends, and he never stopped loving me. I, on the other hand, continued down many different roads, and most of them were dark, and down every road, he remained my friend.

He never dated, never had a girlfriend, never “moved on.” Continue reading

More Than a Need

A few weeks ago, I saw a post from a church collecting donations to help out needy families with their Thanksgiving dinner. My first thought…how do I get on that needy list, but I wasn’t sure about carrying out that thought, so I ignored it, but there was no way escaping it; the thought followed me wherever I went.

Eventually, I sent a message to my friend about it but couldn’t do it because of different thoughts: was it okay to ask; are we really that need; I “may” be able to afford the food by then; I know others are more needy then us; etc., but again, the thought wouldn’t leave me, so I finally asked. Our Rock Concert

Last night, I’d planned a date night with my daughters, but God had a different plan, so I followed it and had an amazing evening!

On my way to pick up Carolyn, Katie called to let me know that she was unable to get the evening off of work and forgot to tell me. When I reached Carolyn and asked if she wanted to invite someone else. She mentioned a friend, so we tried to reach him.

Although we were a little short on time, God didn’t seem to mind and made everything work out perfectly. We were all able to eat and get to the Rock before the concert began. It ended up our seats were taken, so we had to settle for better seats. It was perfect!

So, let me tell you a little bit about Carolyn’s friend. Continue reading

What MY WILL Looks Like

Recently, I was talking to a friend about the craft fair I’d set up a booth at, and she asked me, “Did you ask GOD if you should go to that fair?” Immediately, I began to answer yes but then thought about it and realized no.

The only thing I’d “asked” God was if I should take someone. I never really asked Him IF I should go at all. How interesting is that!

Then, I began to remember what exactly happened during that time frame when the decision was made, and the memory was embarrassing, but I’ll share it with you. Continue reading
