Strength of Love

If you’ve been keeping up with my posts, you’d know how time consuming these past few weeks have been, with my ex-husband in town. It took me over a day to recover and almost a week to catch up on flag making. (I’m still not caught up!) During this time, I also haven’t gone to see Lee in the park, and yesterday, God prompted me to do so.

There was a part of me that didn’t know how he would react to my visit, since I’ve been so busy with family and the business, but nothing stops me (normally) from following God’s voice, so regardless of how I “felt,” I took him some lunch. Continue reading

Passing the Test

Last week, I had gone to the park to surprise Lee, and boy, was he surprised! As I walked up, he was reading, so his head was down, and when I said my usual, “Hi, Lee!”, his whole body smiled. He was so happy. Well, yesterday, he was surprised with another visit, but this time, Barry went down there, too.

Weather Update

I have always loved the weather…always wanted to experience all four seasons, and I have always appreciated the clouds more than any other characteristic of nature, but ever since I’ve become friends with Lee, I’ve noticed the weather a lot more, and it doesn’t always bring a smile to my face.

The clouds…I absolutely LOVE the clouds. If I had to choose between a sunny day and a grey, cloudy one, I would choose the grey, cloudy one every time. Yesterday, as I was at my desk, I was watching the weather through the window: the trees were dancing in the wind; the clouds were blocking the sun from shining. It was beautiful, so I stepped out onto the balcony and experienced my happiness crash. Continue reading

A Disadvantage of the Shade

As you’ve noticed, I no longer post about Lee. I thought about it: if I went to have coffee with a friend, would I post about it the next day, what we talked about? No, so why was I posting about Lee? He’s become a very good friend of mine, so the posts of him have come to an end…except for this one. Without him in the story, I won’t be able to fully express what happened to me yesterday, and it’s worth the smile it might bring. Continue reading

“Seasons of Heaven”

crawling out of darkness
smoke had filled the air
clearing away
revealing vision
clearer than before

kneeling
discovering
standing
walking

to a place that looks different

with familiar faces
that acquainted before
but become closer
in the picture of life

uniting
swaying
supporting
growing

when seasons change
the weather blends
to create an atmosphere
that matches the season
until Jesus

promises
hope
Peace
understanding

Jesus living
creates an atmosphere of heaven
in every season
every circumstance
every moment

breakthrough
believing
receiving
victory

of standing tall
with smoke underneath
breathing with ease
sleeping in rest
seeing with clarity

Popcorn and Tears

Yesterday was too funny. In the morning, as I was packing lunch for me and Lee, at the last minute, I grabbed a bag of popcorn, figuring I’d pop it right before leaving for the park, so it would be warm. Good plan, huh? The Holy Spirit has the best plans, and they’d work great, if I’d follow them.

Work was getting in the way of me leaving for lunch, so I left a little late. As I walked up the hill from work, I realized I forgot to pop the popcorn, so I was taking a package of microwave popcorn kernels…no time to go back. I had cold pizza and sweets, so I continued on. Continue reading

Good Friday Cries

I am so glad I didn’t wear makeup yesterday. I was crying on and off all day…all of them good. What a happy bottle God has with my tears in them! Listen to how God is working: on Thursday night, I met a man who offered to do the marketing for my flag business for FREE, and yesterday, a woman called to order flags who is a publisher. I believe my devotional book will be available sooner rather than later. Anyway, enough of that. Let’s go to Balboa Park. Continue reading
