Laughter in Prayer

I’ll never forget the first time I laughed during a prayer. I (almost) thought I’d done something wrong, but it felt so good, so I knew it was something right. Every since then, I let it flow in prayer.

Well, on Friday night, at the last minute, I decided to go to Elijah Mountain to hear Stephen Meyering. As I was walking down the street, I saw a homeless couple, leaning against the wall, drinking. Continue reading

“Pupils”

I saw God tonight
in the eyes of two women

who burn with fire
in flames of prayer
who stop and go
at the sound of God’s voice
who give without asking
because of Who asked

who gave selflessly
in love
who gave selflessly
FOR Love

in the eyes of two women
I saw God tonight

“Prayer Bucket”

there’re just some things
that hurt my heart
are out of my
control

those moments when
prayers said
seem so
small
and prayers answered
are huge

words
poured out like rain
held inside
every tear

so many struggling
if only I could
help them all
if only I could
support them

it’s hard to keep going
when all seems lost
it’s hard to find value
when you don’t know your worth

this poem in code
could be for many
God help
them all

“Embracing Discovery”

about love

they said
‘you’ll know’
but I didn’t know
until I knew

for everyone
it’s different
for me
it was a hug
that embraced
my heart

how do you let go
of something so real

I questioned
I cried
I listened to God
and asked my love
to marry me

love is looking
into the eyes of your husband
across the way
wanting to climb over the table
to get to him
but you don’t
because you know
he’s not going anywhere

now I know
and can tell others
‘you’ll know’
and then watch them
not know
until they know
