after Christ
was a new covenant
after the new nature
was freedom from sin
after receiving love
was rivers of living water
we will never thirst again

many want to hold onto the law
the sinful nature
believe that wickedness remains
inside

not me

would my God save me
to fill me with darkness
would His Son die on the cross
for me to keep sin
would the mind of Christ
follow evil
would God’s design for me
include bondage to sin

ABSOLUTELY NOT!

through learning I’ve found
the key is to believe
the truth that I’m
freed from sin
raised by glory
covered in love
clothed in righteousness
filled with faith
led by His Spirit
living through His heart
obeying His word
for Him to be One with me
and I one with Him

two hearts as ONE
working WITH Him
not against Him

death has died
life was raised
selfishness died
selflessness raised
sinful nature died
new nature raised

no longer having a father of lies
embracing my Father in Heaven
no longer bound to the law
but free to love
free to live
free to go forth
free to follow Him
free from drama
free from sex
free from lust
free from addiction
simply free

it’s in His Word

would Jesus say
“Laura, you have to sin. It’s part of who you are.”
NEVER!

would Jesus say
“Laura, here is a new heart filled with wicked desires.”
NEVER!

He says
“Laura, you’re holy, blameless, above reproach in my sight,
and you’re always in my sight. I’ve made you righteous.
Now, follow my Spirit and believe all that I have for you!”
ALWAYS!!
