let me ask you

if a Middle-Easterner
walked into your church
and met Jesus
then stood
to give his testimony
and said
I raised a knife
and beheaded children
would you love him
or was it the sinner you hated

if a person
who’d been part of your church
thought their testimony
would change lives
help the isolated
so stood
to give their testimony
of hurting children
would you love them
or lock your kids away

I’m just curious
where hate has gone
and where it’s come from

we’re to hate the sin
and love the sinner
but does that happen

how many people
have checked
to see if sex offenders
live near them

do they check
to pray for them
or check
to stay away

there’s a prison
outside of prison
called judgment
with many inmates
who need love
