Last night at bible study, we almost thought that no one would show. Janel co-leads the ministry with me, and we had been there for almost an hour, recapping things that happened at the convention, discussing strategies for next time, when, all of a sudden, a beauty walked in, and she was so excited about life!
She’s been coming to our study for awhile. We’ve walked beside her through the ups and downs of life. We’re friends, and that’s what happens in our study: we become friends with you and experience life with you, and she was ready to share her experiences lately about her battle for purity.
She used to live a double life of working during the day and selling her body at night and on the weekends, but there came a moment in her life when she decided to stop. Guess what? That moment was SEVEN MONTHS AGO! It has been seven months of purity: no masturbating, no sex, no selling her body, no alcohol, no drugs. No wonder she was so excited!! After she shared with us, we all jumped up and did the “happy” dance. I know heaven was smiling. What a victory!
She thanked us for never giving up on her. She thanked us for loving her through everything. She spoke wisdom and peace. One thing she said that struck deep inside of me was that our seeking God is in response to Him chasing after us. Wow! I love that!
We soaked in His Presence. I read “Song of Songs” over our souls. We let Him lavish us with His Love, a moment to be treasured. I am so thankful that God never gave up on us. If our worship to Him is in response to Him chasing after us, then He must be chasing after San Diego at full speed because there are many hearts crying out for “more.”
