it’s so tempting to look back
and regret the years I’ve lost
the time I spent
drinking
using
neglecting
selling
giving
almost everything away
to darkness

right now
I’m crying from looking back
that’s not from God
not allowed
not even legal

I felt God hold my shoulders
and turn me around

there’s a time to remember
and a time to forget
there’s a time to reflect
and a time of reflection

above all
there’s so much time left
to live my life through God’s heart
